Governor Holcomb Teams up with Indiana State Department of Health
On August 29th the Governors office announced it's new three pronged plan to help curb the vaping epidemic in the state of Indiana. What exactly does that mean for us here in Dearborn County? Well here are the main points to take away.
- School education
programming- to provide all schools with the “Catch My Breath” curriculum.
It is FREE to schools, consists of three 30-40 minute online modules.
- The School Vaping Toolkit- is getting an update and will be out soon. The first step is still a district wide- comprehensive policy that includes vaping. Updating those “No smoking” signs on the grounds and throughout the campus to include vaping is also important.
- A partnership with the Truth Initiative for the youth “text to quit” program- The Indiana specific code will come at a later date.
- Over the next year an Adult and Youth media campaign will be presented to cover education on Vaping
